History of Oriental Medicine

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a holistic healing system that originated over 2,000 years ago in China, based on the principles of balance, energy flow (Qi), and the harmony of Yin and Yang. It includes therapies such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, moxibustion (Moxa), and dietary therapy. TCM views the body as an interconnected system and focuses on treating the root cause of illness, not just the symptoms. Historically, it developed through centries of observation, clinical practice, and philosophical teachings like Taoism and Confucianism. In modern times, TCM is utilized to support overall wellness, manage stress, alleviate chronic pain, regulate digestion, and promote reproductive health. Many people today integrate TCM with conventional medicine for a more comprehensive, natural approach to healing.

Our Services

Acupuncture

Acupuncture treatment using gentle needles, Electrostimulation, Cupping, and Moxibustion (Moxa: Dry topical herb).

Electrostimulation provides continuous, targeted stimulation to muscles and nerves, making it especially effective for chronic pain, muscle spasms, and nerve disorders.

Moxibustion gently warms the body, increases local blood flow, and promotes tissue repair. Moxa strengthens the body's Qi (vital energy), supports immunity, and restores balance in weakened or depleted states.

This combination is especially useful for pain management, fatigue, fertility support, digestive disorders, and stress-related tension.

Custom Herbal Supplements

Traditional Chinese herbal medicine has been used for thousands of years as a core component of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

Traditional Herbs are typically combined into formulas to balance the body's Qi, blood, yin, and yang, addressing both symptoms and root causes. They are used to treat a wide range of conditions, from colds and digestive issues to chronic pain and hormonal imbalances.

Traditional Herbs work holistically, aiming to restore internal harmony and support the body's natural healing processes. Today, they are widely integrated into modern wellness practices and often customized to each individual's constitution.

Facial Acupuncture & Microneedling

Facial acupuncture stimulates collagen production, improves skin elasticity, and enhances blood flow, leading to a more radiant and youthful appearance. It helps reduce fine lines, puffiness, and muscle tension in the face naturally. Additionally, it supports overall wellness by addressing internal imbalances that may affect skin health.

Microneedling stimulates the skin’s natural healing response by creating tiny micro-injuries, which boosts collagen and elastin production. This helps improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, acne scars, and promote a smoother, more youthful appearance.

How does acupuncture help with fertility?

Acupuncture has been shown in clinical research to significantly support IVF outcomes, particularly around the time of embryo transfer. A prospective randomized trial published in Fertility and Sterility concluded that “acupuncture on the day of embryo transfer significantly improves the reproductive outcome in infertile women” (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16600232/)

Acupuncture is believed to increase uterine blood flow, reduce stress hormones, and support optimal hormonal balance—all of which are essential for successful implantation. It can also help regulate the menstrual cycle, improve ovarian function, and promote a more receptive endometrial lining. By addressing both physical and emotional factors that impact fertility, acupuncture provides a holistic foundation for improving the chances of conception and a healthy pregnancy.
